Snakebean Community Food Garden and Darwin Garden Education Network (DGEN) is excited to announce the inaugural Sustainable Edible Education Day (SEED) at George Brown Botanic Gardens.
Bringing together people active in community gardening and developing school gardens to share their experience and learnings, ideas and solutions, inspiration and creativity to map a course into the future.
It’s time to bring the local school gardens community together, to share how our school gardens are germinating, growing and harvesting.
We are seeking thought-provoking workshops and discussion topics from people planning to attend; these could range from practical tangible tools used in the classroom or school garden (The what, when, why and how of all things green). Or our role in the process of transforming our classrooms, how we bring food production and sustainability into the daily lives of students.
The Sustainable Edible Education Day will consist of a variety of sessions including:
- hands-on workshops
- presentation of projects or ideas
- discussion circle to explore sustainable edible education.
- tropical lunch
